2009 Gaza Massacre

Just Watch

My fellow Info Warriors, lol. I love the message Cynthia McKinney gave in this speech. I just had to share. So proud to have voted for her. Check out the video below.

“I come from really strong stock. And I know what my own government did to Marcus Garvey. I know what my own government did to Paul Robeson. I know what my government did to Malcolm X, Martin Luther King. I know what my government is capable of doing. And even despite the fact that the entire weight of the United States government was arrayed against all of these people…they didn’t stop. They kept going. And so how could I cower in a moment of fear and say no I’m not going to go (to Gaza). So I got on the boat.” Cynthia Mckinney

End The Fed

****Feel free to edit, modify, add to, pass along and blast the mind’s of people with knowledge. They are bankers, we are AN ENTIRE NATION OF PEOPLE. There is NO EXCUSE for our generation not to get this done. So let’s do it.
November 22nd, 2008: The Beginning of the End of the Fed!****

- The first misconception that most people have is that the Federal Reserve Bank is a branch of the US government. It is not. The Federal Reserve Bank is a private, government sanctioned banking monopoly which issues the nation’s money supply from thin air.

- It is neither Federal, nor is there any reserve.

- The Federal Reserve Act as written by bankers, not legislators.

- It was not written in the halls of Congress or even in Washington D.C. for that matter, but on a private resort island off the coast of Georgia.

- The Constitution forbids its existence.

- According to Article I, Section 8, only Congress has the right to coin money and regulate its value.

- Simply put, The Fed “loans” the nation’s money supply to the Federal Government with a fee, thus creating every dollar you own with debt; the government passes this debt on to you. Because Federal Reserve Notes are not backed by any precious commodity, The Federal Reserve can print as much of it as it pleases, the commercial banks than amplify the effect by creating further money out of thin air by multiplying deposits in a system called “Fractional Reserve Banking”. 97% of the money supply is created from in this fashion.

- A 1984 Government report commissioned under President Ronald Reagan found that zero Percent of your income tax goes to paying for goods and services expected from Government, instead it is paid to these wealthy bankers, and disappears into “unaccountable adjustments”.

- Each year, billions of dollars are “earned” by Class A stockholders from the backs of U.S. tax payers, in an unnecessary, illegitimate, and criminal transfer of wealth from you the tax payer, to them, the Class A stockholders of this private bank.

- A May, 1976 report of the House Banking and Currency Committee indicated that the Rothschilds, a European family, hold 53% of the stock of the U.S. Federal Reserve, and are therefore one of the prime beneficiaries of your tax dollars.

Because of the way the Reserve was organized, whoever controls the Federal Reserve Bank of New York controls the system. About 90 of the 100 largest banks are in this district. Of the reportedly 203,053 shares of the New York bank:

* Rockefeller’s National City Bank had 30,000 shares
* Morgan’s First National Bank had 15,000 shares
* Chase National Bank had 6,000 shares
* National Bank of Commerce (Morgan Guaranty Trust) had 21,000 shares.

“Picture a party of the nation’s greatest bankers stealing out of New York on a private railroad car under cover of darkness, stealthily heading hundreds of miles South, embarking on a mysterious launch, sneaking on to an island deserted by all but a few servants, living there a full week under such rigid secrecy that the names of not one of them was once mentioned lest the servants learn the identity and disclose to the world this strangest, most secret expedition in the history of American finance.

I am not romancing. I am giving to the world, for the first time, the real story of how the famous Aldrich currency report, the foundation of our new currency system, was written.”

- B.C. Forbes, Leslie’s Weekly, 1916
B.C. Forbes later went on to found Forbes Magazine.

- Daily, the Federal Reserve System siphons wealth from Americans through an invisible tax called the inflation tax. This is when they print money out of thin air, thus lowering the value of the already existing money supply giving the illusion to consumers that the price of goods and services has risen, when in reality the value of the dollar has been destroyed due to excess printing. There is a word for this kind of money: Counterfeit.

- This is also what is known as FIAT Currency. By very design of the economic system FIAT currency transfers wealth from the nation’s poorest to wealthiest, it is the greatest scam in history and not widely understood beyond circles of economists and historians, this is why it is crucial that every citizen become aware of it.

- The inflation tax is the most socially destructive tax in existence, historically wiping out the entire middle class and bringing about mass poverty to nation’s in the past who printed money from nothing using central banks.

- The Federal Reserve was originally created to “stabilize” the economy and the value of the dollar, however, the US Dollar has lost 98% of its value since its inception.

- Due to recent events concerning the bailouts and an unprecendeted inflation of the money supply, many economists are warning of an “Inflationary Holocaust”.

- The EU and heads of state are beginning to propose a global currency stabilization system, which we can assure you based on historical precedence is nothing but a monster of a scam. Just as the creators of the Federal Reserve claimed that it would aid the economy, this new proposed system by the EU and others is an even greater and more disastrous system waiting to happen. It too must be stopped in favor of a return to competing currencies, sound money, respect for national sovereignty, property rights, liberty, and Constitutional values.

- It’s time to do something, it’s time to stand up, draw a line, and save the economy and the country from corporate avarice and corruption.

Hiroshima Day

Hiroshima Day Rally, originally uploaded by Kyota.

Today marks the 63rd anniversary of when the U.S. dropped the Atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.

Truemajority.org has created an e-card in remembrance of this terrible event to educate people on the dangers of nuclear weapons and how much the U.S. could save by disarming at least some of them. See the e-card here. http://www.truemajority.org/postcard/

African-Americans Boycotting the NCAA

Ran across this boycott started by Dr. Boyce Watkins (http://www.boycewatkins.com/) and sadly it makes a lot of sense.

Apparently, NCAA makes billions of dollars and pays some of their coaches in the millions while many of their star players and their families continue to live in poverty. Boyce gives a few examples of a few of these player’s sad stories on the website to join the coalition.

To learn more about the boycott and and join the coalition, visit the website at http://www.yourblackworld.com/short_pieces/ncaa_boycott.htm/

The Living Book Club Discussion Group

The Living Book Club: Because a book has more life when it is discussed!

Hello Everyone,

My dearest friend, Mr. Marquis Strickland, and I have created a book club/discussion group to discuss reading selections that will help to inform and inspire as well as develop a better sense of one’s identity and purpose. These selections will include novels, articles, speeches and other reading material which we feel will benefit the members of the group. The first selection for August is Hill Harper’s Letters to a Young Brother: Manifest Your Destiny. Hill wrote this book after being inspired by Letters to A Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke (another great read). Written in a Big Brother format Hill reaches out to mentor young men who are unsure of themselves and their place in the world. Here is one of the letters from the book:

“Dear Young Brotha,

It might seem easier to close your eyes and ears and act like you’re just passing time. But you’re not. Your life’s not. It might seem easier to ignore the fact that the choices for your life are yours to make, but get this: not making any choices is making a choice. So why not make a choice to be active and win at your life? That means choosing to deal with what is going on in your life today. Commit to being an active architect of your own life and to turning your dreams into a reality. For me, that means waking up every morning, getting on my knees, thanking God for the blessing of another day, and whispering the commitment to live this day to its fullest. I commit to live fully each day, each minute, each second. One day at a time. If you make this kind of commitment on a daily basis, then eventually they will stack up to be an amazing string of very cool seconds, minutes, and days, and that can become an “unreasonably happy” lifetime.

You will win at your life. I promise.

Your friend,
Hill”

This book can be found on amazon for about 10 bucks here
http://www.amazon.com/Letters-Young-Brother-MANifest-Destiny/dp/1592402496/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217561765&sr=8-2
or you can check out your local bookstore or library. Learn more about Hill Harper by visiting his website at http://www.manifestyourdestiny.org

P.S. On a side note, Hill Harper attended Harvard University where he became good friends with Presidential candidate, Barack Obama.

Please feel free to email suggestions of what to read as well as post your thoughts on a particular selection on the groups facebook page listed below.

Shirley Chisolm

So ya’ll know I live at the library with my lame self, lol. But anyway, have been re-familiarizing myself about this remarkable woman who I first learned about in 6th grade was the first Black woman elected to Congress. This was her addressing an audience when she ran for president in ‘72. Very inspiring, the video does not cover all of it.

BROOKLYN ANNOUNCEMENT
Shirley Chisholm at podium waving and smiling, clapping crowd.

I stand before you today as a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States of America. (Clapping.)

I am not the candidate of black America, although I am black and proud.” Clapping.
I am not the candidate of the women’s movement of this country, although I am a woman, and I am equally proud of that.” Clapping.

I am not the candidate of any political bosses or fat cats or special interests.” (Clapping. cheers).

I stand here now without endorsements from many big name politicians or celebrities or any other kind of prop. I do not intend to offer to you the tired and glib clichés, which for too long have been an accepted part of our political life. I am the candidate of the people of America. And my presence before you now symbolizes a new era in American political history.

I have always earnestly believed in the great potential of America. Our constitutional democracy will soon celebrate its 200th anniversary, effective testimony, to the longevity to our cherished constitution and its unique bill of rights, which continues to give to the world an inspirational message of freedom and liberty.

We Americans are a dynamic people…”(This portion is missing from footage).

Fellow Americans, we have looked in vain to the Nixon administration for the courage, the spirit, the character and the words to lift us. To bring out the best in us, to rekindle in each of us our faith in the American dream. Yet all we have received in return is just another smooth exercise in political manipulation, deceit and deception, callousness and indifference to our individual problems and a disgusting playing of devices politics. Pinning the young against the old, labor against management, north against south, black against white. (Clapping.) The abiding concern of this administration has been one of political expediency, rather than the needs of man’s nature.

The president has broken his promises to us, and has therefore lost his claim to our trust and confidence in him. I cannot believe that this administration would ever have been elected four years ago, if we had known then what we know today. But we are entering a new era, in which we must, as Americans, must demand stature and size in our leadership — leadership, which is fresh, leadership, which is open, and leadership, which is receptive to the problems of all Americans.

I have faith in the American people. I believe that we are smart enough to correct our mistakes. I believe that we are intelligent enough to recognize the talent, energy, and dedication, which all American including women and minorities have to offer. I know from my travels to the cities and small towns of America that we have a vast potential, which can and must be put to constructive use in getting this great nation together. I know that millions of Americans, from all walks of life agree with me that leadership does not mean putting the ear to the ground, to follow public opinion, but to have the vision of what is necessary and the courage to make it possible, building a strong and just society, which in its diversity and is noble in its quality of life.

I stand before you today, to repudiate the ridiculous notion that the American people will not vote for qualified candidates, simply because he is not right or because she is not a male. I do not believe that in 1972, the great majority of Americans will continue to harbor such narrow and petty prejudice.

I am convinced that the American people are in a mood to disc the politics and political personalities of the past.

I believe that they will show in 1972, and thereafter, that they intend to make individual judgments on the merits of a particular candidate, based on that candidates intelligence, character, physical ability, competence, integrity, and honesty.” Clapping. “It is, I feel the duty of responsible leaders in this country to encourage and maximize, not to dismiss and minimize such judgment.”
Americans all over are demanding a new sensibility, a new philosophy of government from Washington. Instead of sending spies to snoop on participants on Earth Day, I would welcome the efforts of concerned citizens of all ages to stop the abuse of our environment. Instead of watching a football game on television, while young people beg for the attention of their President, concerning our actions abroad, I would encourage them to speak out, organize for peaceful change, and vote in November. Instead of blocking efforts to control huge amounts of money given political candidates by the rich and the powerful, I would provide certain limits on such amounts and encourage all people of this nation to contribute small sums to the candidates of their choice. Instead of calculating political cost of this or that policy, and of weighing in favors of this or that group, depending on whether that group voted for me in 1968, I would remind all Americans at this hour of the words of Abraham Lincoln, ‘A house divided, cannot stand.

“We Americans are all fellow countrymen. One day confronting the judgment of history in our country. We are all God’s children and a bit of each of us is as precious as the will of the most powerful general or corporate millionaire. Our will can create a new America in 1972, one where there is freedom from violence and war, at home and abroad, where there is freedom from poverty and discrimination, where there exists at least a feeling, that we are making progress and assuring for everyone medical care, employment, and decent housing. Where we more decisively clean up our streets, our water, and our air. Where we work together, black and white, to rebuild our neighborhoods and to make our cities quiet, attractive, and efficient and fundamentally where we live in the confidence that every man and every woman in America has at long last the opportunity to become all that he was created of being, such as his ability.

In conclusion, all of you who share this vision, from NY to CA, from WI to FL, are brothers and sisters on the road to national unity and a new America.” Clapping. “Those of you who were locked outside of the convention hall in 1968, those of you who can now vote for the first time, those of you who agree with me that the institutions of this country belong to all of the people who inhabit it. Those of you who have been neglected, left out, ignored, forgotten, or shunned aside for whatever reason, give me your help at this hour. Join me in an effort to reshape our society and regain control of our destiny as we go down the Chisholm Trail for 1972. (Clapping. Cheering).

Pull out to WS, people giving her a standing ovation and cheering.

Reporters ask questions of the candidate. Here are a few….

Reporter #1: You have recommended for women and specifically black women that involves politics and for elected office.

SC: Yes, I specifically recommend, do I recommend a trend for more women, and specifically black women to enter into politics…

Reporter #1: elected office?

SC: Elected office? Yes, I definitely am feeling and recognizing that as a result over 20 yrs in political life, only emerging 8 yrs ago publicly, that there is a great need for more women in the political arena. I happen to believe that there are certain aspects of legislation that probably would be given much more attention if we had more women’s voices in the halls of the legislatures on the city, state and national level. And I will…. Legislation that pertains to daycare centers, education, social services, mental services, the kind of legislation that has to do with the conservation and preservation of the most important resources that any nation has and that is its human resources.”

Reporter #2: Congresswoman Chisholm, do you think that your candidacy will hurt the presidential candidacy of (NYC) Mayor Lindsay?”

SC: Well, Mayor Lindsay will be getting votes from the same area that I anticipate getting votes. And I dare say that my candidacy may not just hurt Mayor Lindsay, it might hurt a few others…I just want to say this, and it is very import for all Americans to recognize. The U.S. Constitution stipulates that anyone that is 35 yrs of age or over and is a natural born citizen can run for the Presidency. All of us meet that criteria. The people will make a decision.” (Clapping).

The Gift of Elders

People are often amazed by me and by all the information I know about my family and our ancestors. I am often amazed at people who don’t know where their own parents were born or the real names of their grandparents. I sat listening to my grandpas today while they enjoyed their Father’s Day dinner. They reminisced about their lives throughout their youth and into adulthood and as usual I was intrigued and inspired by their stories. I regret not taking the time to just sit and listen to them when I was a child. My cousins and I used to make jokes about who was going to get “stuck” with them while they told one of their stories. How I would give anything to turn back the hands of time and soak in all of their words.

People are far too often taken for granted. This is especially true for the elderly. Youth would rather put them away to be forgotten or just ignore them all together since our culture is incessantly obsessed with staying young and dread even the thought of having to grow older.

It is important to listen to our elders. They have wisdom and experience to share and it is shameful to let it go to waste. My Poppies, as I referred to my mother’s father, played major league baseball in the 1950s and early 60s. As one of the few African-American ballplayers, he was a hero to many in his race, especially so since he was the star player for a few seasons for one of his teams. I wished I had listened more intensely when he would tell us stories of how things were back then. If I did listen, it would only be partially since I was probably itching to go outside and play or go sit in front of the television. When I was 14, my poppies died very unexpectedly, and unfortunately, most of his stories, memories and experiences died with him because I rarely took the time to allow him to share them with me.

Although saddened, I am never regretful. This instance taught me the importance of being a good listener and never taking my loved ones for granted. Most people never write an autobiography so when they’re gone, they’re gone. Only through those they leave behind can they truly live on, and only if those people took the time to learn their story.
